Labels—the way people describe their LGBTQ identity—may change as our kids continue to explore and define themselves. Whilst you might be able to choose who you are attracted to, you can choose if you want to label yourself and officially come out.
A lot of queer people don’t come out and don. What I’m seeing in young adolescents is more of a blank slate leading into a period of questioning to label themselves gay, straight, bi, asexual or a myriad of other descriptions.
