Despite being aware of the issues that might come his way for dating a journalist, Victor, while running for the city councilman’s office, is drawn toward her. Fatima reveals that she is a transwoman, prompting Victor to reply that he likes women, and Fatima is a woman, so there is no issue here. While running for councilman in season 5, Trig began a secret relationship with Fatima, a journalist who initially grilled him about his work.
Their relationship grew, but it faced strain as Trig was also maintaining a fake relationship with Tierra to uphold his public image. With Dre and Nina, we have a lesbian couple, Quincy and Deondray gives us a gay couple, and Victor and Fatima give us a couple in which one person is trans. While Victor publicly announced his new girlfriend and was attracted to trans women during his run for office, those who’ve watched the show for some time remember he came to The Chi with another girlfriend — Imani, played by Jasmine Davis. However, Imani wasn’t in Season 5, and viewers want to know what happened to Victor’s now ex-girlfriend.
But as the story progresses, circumstances make her just that. From masc to fem to gender-non-conforming, there should be no value judgment on how any of us show up in the world. Absolutely, and the show is honest about those as well. A few days later, she called and said she would write these characters into the show and she would name them Quincy and Deondray! I would say that the characters are not us.
Main Genre Drama. Again, what we love about these characters is that they challenge every gay stereotype. The series hails from Chicago native and Emmy-winner Lena Waithe Master of None and revolves around a group of South Side Chicago residents curiously linked to each other and all looking for some kind of connection, and some kind of justice.

You know, there's nobody that's good or bad.

Victor is idealistic and dedicated to the betterment of his community. Unfortunately, there's always backlash, right? Jazelle came out as trans in college and has much a considerable time informing others on intersectionality between trans rights, LGBTQ rights, feminist studies, Black identity politics.
